How to create your own Moroccan lounge…

Sometimes people ask me if I have a ”Moroccan corner”. I really like the Moroccan lounges but not in a traditional way. I like the idea of a different part of your room turned into a salon. You see this very often in Morocco.

We have also created a lounge area in our home. We have custom made mattresses. We have created a low bake, with mdf and wooden beams. The mattresses fit in exactly. We have thrown a lot of decorative pillows on the mattresses. The pillows I change some times. Some times I have more color and other times I choose only for quiet white shades.

Of course a little or big Moroccan tea table can not be missing. On the floor we have a little handira. It really makes the 1001-night atmosphere. At the ceiling we have a traditional Moroccan lamp and I have draped some purple organza. At the wall we have two Morccan lamps, we bought them the first time I was in Morocco. The picture on the wall is our own image that we have made in the Sahara. Some nice candles and little lights are always good to create an atmosphere with a Moroccan touch.
